HAMPTON — After a disappointing loss to an in-state Division II rival last week, Norfolk State was able to flip the script Saturday. The Spartans bounced back and beat rival Hampton 31-23 in the Battle of the Bay at Armstrong Stadium. Norfolk State coach Dawson Odums lauded his team for its effort throughout the week during practice and said he was proud of the way the Spartans responded after last week's loss to Virginia State. 'The true measure of a man is how do you respond when you face adversity,' Odums said.
